To build up this blog I used WordPress, some plugins and a custom theme.
My way to thank the people that developed these stuffs is to list them here.
I also added a description of the modification I introduced, if I did.
-
WordPress
WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.
-
WordPress Weather Widget
It displays the current weather condition, temperature
, and the feels like temperature.
It uses weather.com‘s xoap api to retrieve the information.
Since weather.com does not provide anymore free data, and only sells REALLY expensive accounts, I decided top modify this plug-in to get data from WorldWeatherOnline.com
Other minor changes I have made are:- replaced the original pictures with Weather Images shiny.
- added the parsing of humidity in the data retrieved.
- adapt the output to this blog theme.
-
SyntaxHighlighter Evolved
SyntaxHighlighter Evolved allows you to easily post syntax-highlighted code to your site without having to escape the code or anything.
On this plugin I had just to do some adjustment on the css to made it look better according to this Blog theme. -
AddToAny
I installed this plugin to add the share/save button to give to the visitors the ability to share my posts on their favourite social network or by mail.
-
Maintenance Mode Plugin
This plugin adds a splash page to your blog that lets visitors know your blog is down for maintenance. Logged in administrators get full access to the blog including the front-end.
-
WP_FlashTime Widget
With WP_FlashTime Widget you can add a flash clock to your wordpress. This plugin include 25 different flash clocks.
When writing this, the website of this plugin seems to do not exist anymore. -
Mutti’s Tech Pills custom blog theme
It has been developed by Muttisoft.
Thanks to everyone.
